AHP Humanitarian Response Update 2022-23

While recent years have been defined by the COVID-19 crisis, and the need to support our vulnerable neighbours in the Pacific and Southeast Asia, in 2022-23 humanitarian focus shifted to the wide-ranging impacts of the war in Ukraine, its flow-on consequences for food and fuel prices, and the impacts of climate change. AHP responses in 2022-23 have focused on food security, protection and more in both sudden impact and protracted crises, including Tropical Cyclones Judy and Kevin in Vanuatu, the Türkiye earthquake and the continuing Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh.

This report covers AHP activations and activities between July 2022 and June 2023. Disaster READY progress is reported separately.
